Modular & Mobile
Affordable, Adaptable Turnkey Living
We love Tiny Houses on Wheels (THOW) for their affordability, flexibility and freedom, but they are, well, tiny!
So we thought BIG and embarked on a journey to create the ideal, flexible housing solution that combines the certainty of conventional housing, with the freedom of a tiny house on wheels.

Our Story
meet Geoffrey McGinley
founder
After a 30-year career as a Navy Commander, Geoff McGinley wanted to begin the next phase of his life in a non-traditional home.
What initially began as a project to design and build his forever home quickly evolved into a bigger mission; how could he help other Australians who also wanted this lifestyle to achieve it? As home ownership declines, entire generations are being locked out of the housing market as rental prices climb. How could these people also access a secure, comfortable home able to adapt to their needs? Geoff knew there was a better, more equitable solution; he just needed to build it first.
As someone who’s always challenged the status quo, doing what’s expected wasn’t an option for Geoff, he wanted to live in an adaptable home close to nature without the strings of a 30-year mortgage. After spending two years exploring what was already available with tiny houses, he quickly realised what we needed didn’t exist.
While business operations started to take shape in 2022, the company was rebranded as Adapt Homes two years down the track and continues to grow.
Our Team
Valérie Paquin
-
As the resident wordsmith at Adapt Homes, Val shapes the company's brand voice and develops marketing campaigns across various channels.A self-proclaimed museum nerd, she’s a huge fan of modern art and good design, but what really drives her is uncovering the stories and human connections behind the creations, whether they be works of art or innovative products.
When she’s not creating new content or promotional tools, Val loves to get out into nature for a restorative bush walk or an ocean swim. Her dream Adapt Home is a Banksia – envisioned as her writer’s retreat that would double as a cosy, self-contained sanctuary for friends and family visiting from abroad.
Grace Adams-Jones
-
As a member of the Adapt Homes customer service team, Grace blends creativity with practicality. With her tell-tale sunny enthusiasm and helpful disposition, she guides clients through council regulations and layout options, then brings their visions to life with immersive 3D renders.
After experiencing several moves in her childhood, she understands the allure of a mobile, adventurous lifestyle. Driven by genuine empathy and drawing on her background in nursing, she finds real enjoyment in helping people create and visualise their own sanctuaries.
When she isn’t helping future Adapt homeowners find the right fit, you’ll likely find her reading by a fireplace or pursuing her passion for photography. Her dream Adapt Home is a Widened Kookaburra, specifically for its incredibly spacious bathroom layout.
Kelly Vince
-
Our web design wizard Kelly also creates digital content for Adapt Homes’ social media channels. Currently studying Interaction Design, Information Systems, and Psychology at Victoria University of Wellington, she enjoys having the opportunity to hone her skills while working towards her degree.
Originally from Canada, she now makes her (tiny!) home in Aotearoa New Zealand and splits her time between Adapt work, studying, and working part time as a barista at a local beach cafe. Her favourite model is the Acacia, as she loves the open-plan design and spacious bathroom.
Gabe Davidson
-
Gabe is an ethical entrepreneur who lends his business expertise for strategy, guidance and execution across Adapt Homes and its charitable arm, Adapt Impact. As a pioneer in the ethical chocolate industry, he consults for various organisations that share his ideals, developing strategies to create more sustainable business models.
He is the founder of successful Australasian companies such as The Original Cocoa Traders and the Wellington Chocolate Factory, and has notably worked with Social Ventures Australia, the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Massey University.
When he's not focused on his entrepreneurial endeavours, Gabe enjoys playing jazz in local haunts, exploring the coast and scuba diving, and going off on wee adventures with his family. His preferred Adapt Homes model is the Martin Bird, which features the most spacious living area and smart storage solutions.
Toni O’Keefe
-
Toni is our secret weapon – the quiet force working behind the scenes, ensuring that ops are running smoothly and that our homes are delivered in the best and most efficient way. Whether she’s conducting background research or liaising with third parties, she touches on sourcing equipment and supplies, government regulations, transport logistics, and anything in between.
With her solid experience as a human resource manager and various service roles in government, she is a real people person who enjoys finding practical solutions, particularly in interpersonal contexts.
When she’s not running around with her family, Toni enjoys the outdoors whether it's walking, swimming, bike riding, or hiking. Her happy place by the water, especially the beach, and her fave Adapt Home is the Kookaburra, which would be a cute coastal escape in a beautiful location.
Amy Ehsman
-
With her level-headed approach and strong problem-solving skills, Amy leads the customer service and delivery team, managing Adapt Homes’ presence at trade shows and various events, and helping people through the process of finding their dream home.
Her foundation in project management combined with her passion for social innovation make her a great fit for helping people find a housing solution that’s a little bit less traditional, and her genuinely caring, supportive approach sets the perfect tone for our Client Liaison team.
Alongside her work for Adapt Homes, Amy enjoys pursuing a degree in sustainable living and keeping active, whether it’s in her role as a movement and dance facilitator, getting out into nature for a replenishing breather, or spending time in the garden.
